CASE # ROS1498
|
Site History
This frame farm house was built in 1845. The original builder of the farmhouse was
undetermined. Ownership was documented back to 1989 (see attached). This parcel of
land was originally part of a larger parcel. It is believed that Mathew Hueston originally
owned this tract. At the United States land sales in 1801 he purchased, multiple sections
of land and two fractional sections, comprehending in all about 2,600 acres. To these
purchases he added more tracts of land from 1801 - 1813, so that he eventually became
the largest owner of land in Butler County. Mr. Hueston did not live on this particular
parcel it is believed that the grazed cattle on this property. This property has been
subdivided into its current configuration of 7.854 acres.

Investigators Present
Michele, Joy, Marie, Matt, Laura
Investigators are divided into teams, rotating teams in approximately half-hour shifts
through out the home, with one team monitoring base.
Investigation Conditions
March 14, 2008
Average Temperature Inside: 88° F, Average Temperature Inside: 66° F
Average Humidity Inside: 33%, Average Humidity Inside: 32%
Weather Outside: At 9:00pm EST, misting with a temperature of 47° F, humidity is at 32%
**Moon Phase: Last Quarter
March 29, 2008
Weather Outside: At 9:30pm EST, dry with a temperature of 35° F, humidity is at 24%, 93%, winds are N at 5mph. Fog is beginning to form, winds gusty to 15 - 21mph.
*Solar X-Ray: Normal
*Geomagnetic Field: Quiet
**Moon Phase: First Quarter
*Solar X-Ray and Geomagnetic Field activities seem to affect the amount of
paranormal activity. Researchers have found that during periods of heightened
solar x-ray activity and geomagnetic activity in space, paranormal activity
increases.
*Research has shown that the magnetic fields are the strongest on the days around the full and new moon cycles. Spirit activity is found to be more prominent during these times.
Investigation Duration
March 14, 2008 : Start 9:13pm EST - End 11:15pm EST
March 29, 2008 : Start 9:43pm EST - End 11:56pm EST
Equipment Used
Multiple digital audio recorders and cameras. Two stationary cameras JVC – VHS C,
Two Astek IR cameras, K II EMF meter, Lutron EMF-822A, Multiple IR light motion
censor, IR audiable motion censor, multiple thermometers from ambient to non-contact,
weather monitor station at central logging station. Multiple analog recorders.
Investigation Report
The investigation began with the stationary cameras being place in the Kitchen recording
the cabinet/counter with the artifacts, one in the Garage, one in the second floor SW
bedroom. IR cameras were placed in the first floor master bedroom and the other in the
NE bedroom. Analog recorders were placed in these bedroom areas as well. Motion
alarms were placed in the master bedroom, garage, and basement.
Teams and areas are assigned.
Baseline readings for the various rooms were as follows:
March 14, 2008
Room EMF – in mG Ambient Temp
Kitchen 2.3 72 F
Living Room 1.7 78 F
Master Bedroom .7 82 F
SW Bedroom (Dennis)BD3 2.8 79 F
NE Bedroom (Ben)BD2 1.2 88 F
Basement 1.7 72 F
Laundry Rm/Bath .5 80 F
March 29, 2008
Room EMF – in mG Ambient Temp
Kitchen 2.0 66 F
Living Room 1.7 66 F
Master Bedroom .7 66 F
SW Bedroom (Dennis)BD3 1.3 62 F
NE Bedroom (Ben)BD2 .8 62 F
Basement 1.7 60 F
Laundry Rm/Bath .5 68 F
Multiple EMF and temperatures readings were taken through out the night. High EMF
spikes are noted in BD3 (over 10 mG), these are along the bed area. It is concluded that
this is due to wiring that is running in the floor to the front outside. Also a high EMF was
detected in the Basement by the electrical box (over 40 mG) – this is normal. Throughout
the investigations there are multiple EMF spikes, they dissipate and are at this time
inconclusive. There is a temperature drop in the master bedroom of approximately 13°,
this cold spot dissipates and the cause is not determined.
No visual phenomenon was observed on any video cameras. All teams of investigators
had audio recorders and digital cameras. There were no anomalies in any digital cameras.
Audio captures termed EVP’s are included with this report and will be presented.
Event Review
March 14, 2008
BD2 at 09:18 Radio static – determined the track lighting to be the cause.
Master at 09:32 Temp change of 13 degrees lower source is not found. KII shows spike. Two
investigators witness this activity.
Master at 09:56 Door in bathroom area is checked for range of motion it is determined that at the right position the door will swing shut on its own.
Staircase at 09:25 Investigators at base view light, they were unable to determine its origins.
Living Room at 10:45 Battery drain in camera and EMF spike. Replaced batteries, EMF was ruled inconclusive due to equipment usage at base.
March 29, 2008
Living Room at 09:57 Radio static – determined the sump pump may be causing some radio
interference.
BD2 at 09:57 Investigators hear a whisper – nothing is caught on any recorder
BD2 at 10:01 Battery drain on all equipment in room. Investigators detect an odor; a third
investigator confirms this. Origins of the odor are not found.
BD2 at 10:41 Investigators feel floor vibrate – it is later determined that sump pump was
marked on log sheet as going off at that time.
Master at 10:08 – 10:55 On camera a steady shadow is observed along with a camera shake. Investigators determine it may have been from a car that entered the
neighbor’s driveway. The video feed from this camera malfunction so
review of this incident could not be obtained.
BD3 at 10:49 Unsteady EMF reading with also a spike – it is determined that wiring in the
floor that goes to the front of the home may be the cause of this fluctuations.
Kitchen at 11:07 – 11:15 Same odor that was upstairs in now in the kitchen – cannot locate the source. At this time the investigators go outside to take readings and leave all
cameras and recorder rolling.
NOTES DURING SETUP
During our setup it is noted by one investigator that the glass bottles on the counter in the kitchen have been knocked over. Questioning other investigators it was noted that when first arriving all bottles where in an upright position. Not at anytime did investigators hear these bottles fall. There are no documenting photos or video of this incident. At this time this
is inconclusive.
Investigation Conclusion
We have obtained audio phenomenon that is called EVP’s these will be presented to you
at the time of our review and a copy will also be given to you on CD or tape. Although
there was recorded audio phenomenon, we cannot reach a final conclusion about the
reported paranormal activity. It is in our opinion due to the high EMF fields that were
present in BD3 that this could lead some people who are sensitive to these fields to
experience what they would perceive as “paranormal activity”.
At this time the information that we have gathered has proved itself to be interesting but
inconclusive.
