Investigators Present

Team A: Joy Naylor & Marie Peterson
B: Michele Hale, Matt Hoskins & Sarah McEvoy

Rotating teams in half-hour shifts through out the property.

Investigation Conditions

Average Temperature Inside: 81° F
Average Humidity Inside: 51%
Weather Outside: At 9:00pm EST, dry with a temperature of 81° F, humidity is at 58%, winds are calm, sky is clear.
Solar X-Ray*: Normal
Geomagnetic*: Field: Quiet
*Solar X-Ray and Geomagnetic Field activities seem to affect the amount of paranormal activity. Researchers have found that during periods of heightened solar x-ray activity and geomagnetic activity in space, paranormal activity increases.
Moon Phase*: Waning Crescent – last quarter moon
*Research has shown that the magnetic fields are the strongest on the days around the full and new moon cycles. Spirit activity is found to be more prominent during these times.
Investigation Duration

Start 9:06pm EST 07/26/08
End
12:53pm EST 07/27/08, Temp 68° F, humidity 67%, winds are calm, sky clear

Equipment Used

Multiple hand held digital audio recorders and cameras. Four digital recorders place at each IR camera location. Four Aptek IR stationary cameras, DVR deck with quad switcher, K II EMF meter, Lutron EMF-822A, multiple thermometers from ambient to non-contact, five remote temperature monitors, motion sensor with audible alarm.

Investigation Report

Set up of investigation – IR cameras, digital audio recorders and remote temperature gages are placed in the following rooms.

Pack #1 basement on the NW wall camera is shooting toward the SE wall.
Pack #2 is located in bedroom 4 (upstairs bedroom NW side of home) the camera location is on the N corner shooting W – SW (closet alcove area and window).
Pack #3 is located in bedroom 1 (located on N side of home downstairs) shooting S out of the room.
Pack #4 location in the living room / dinning room on the SE wall shooting NW down the main hallway. Base is located in the living room area on the NE wall.

Baseline readings for the various rooms were as follows:

Multiple EMF and temperatures readings were taken through out the night. High EMF spikes are noted in the kitchen (over 14 mG), these are along the SW wall. Also in bedroom 2 (over 5 mG) on the SE wall. The basement had high EMF readings between 11 mG – 14mG. All of these high reading are due to the electric meters and panel boxes.

Throughout the investigation there were multiple EMF spikes.  However, they dissipated and are at this time inconclusive. There was a cold spot felt in bedroom 4 at the closet but further review of said spot concluded that there is a air current from the AC that is moving around in that area. Temperature data is also included on a separate form of the entire investigation.
No visual phenomenon was captured on any digital cameras.

Investigation Conclusion

We have obtained audio phenomenon that is called EVP’s that will be presented to you at the time of our review we will also provide you with a copy on CD. At two different times all investigators went outside to let the home “rest”. During this time we obtained multiple EVP’s of undetermined noises in the home. Although there was recorded audio phenomenon, we cannot reach a final conclusion about the reported paranormal activity. All investigators had some sort of experience of which they could not determine the cause. It is in our opinion that due to the high EMF fields in certain locations that this could lead some people who are sensitive to these fields to experience what they would perceive as “paranormal activity”.  It is in our opinion at the time of the investigation that there was (and is) unexplained activity in this home that could be deemed paranormal in nature. As to the property having a Shaker meeting house on the premises at this time this in inconclusive. The Shaker village located outside of the Dayont area wa the Watervliet Shaker Village this village was located on the Montgomery/Greene County line (The property is now part of the Miami Valley Research Park and the Bergamo Retreat Center.) John Patterson and his family provided the land on which the Watervliet Shaker Community Community was founded in 1806. The original 80 acres of the Bergamo Retreat Center was purchased by the Marianists in 1910.
